Nintendo Wii for Women in the UAE - Essay Example This paper believes that Nintendo Wii should find a new market, especially in a foreign market where it is not doing well yet. This paper presents a marketing plan for introducing Nintendo Wii to women in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The situation analyses will provide the information on why Emirati and non-national women are attractive new market segments for Nintendo Wii. SITUATION ANALYSIS This section will analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to Nintendo Wii. SWOT Analysis Strengths It is believed that Nintendo President and Director Satoru Iwata is a company strength because he has turned the company around with his support for innovations like Wii and DS (Schilling 2009). He is also a hardware innovator, which makes R&D in Nintendo a core competency also of Nintendo. Another company strength is its wide array of creative products. The company has led the video games industry since 2007, because of its intuitive and socially attractive games. Since 20 07, Nintendo has regained its top 1 market status because of ââ¬Å"rethinking video gaming, making it more social, more intuitive, and physically engagingâ⬠(Deshpande and Chua 2008, p.22). Nintendo Wii has become a blockbuster product, because of its ability to physically engage players, embedding them into the gaming experience in intuitive ways. Nintendo has a strong multinational video gaming brand since its Mario Brothers times. With its phenomenal Wii and DS consoles, quality and creative gaming experience is already equated with Nintendo. This brand equity can easily spill over to other markets. Weaknesses Nintendoââ¬â¢s weakness is inventory shortage for its leading products Wii video game console and DS handheld... Center of discussion in this paper is Nintendo Wii and DS, the company's blockbuster products in the beginning of the twenty-first century. In 2006, Nintendo's revenues are $5 billion, but a year after that, it jumped to $9 billion, a rise of 80%. From 2006 to 2009, revenues have risen from $5 billion to $18 billion, which means that sales increased by 260%. For the past two years, however, sales are dipping as Wii, DS, and Dsi are approaching market saturation in the United States. In 2011, Nintendo sold 4.5 million Wii units, which is a far cry from its 2007 sales of 7 million-strong units, and which translates to a drop of 35%. This is not surprising also because of the short product lifecycle of video games consoles and gaming software, where new products, hardware and software alike, are produced every two to three years, sometimes even less. This paper believes that Nintendo Wii should find a new market, especially in a foreign market where it is not doing well yet. This paper presents a marketing plan for introducing Nintendo Wii to women in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The situation analyses will provide the information on why Emirati and non-national women are attractive new market segments for Nintendo Wii. The main target markets are Emirati women, although other women are included. The Emiratis continue to have a conservative culture that keep women inside their homes, which hamper women's education, employment, and even exercise opportunities.

Least ost solution - Essay Example Analysis of the Supply Chain Project shows that transfer points is not necessary or justified. The major economic factor which influences the effect of distance on rates is the element of cost. In transportation, certain costs are incurred without regard to the actual movement per se.Products delivered by Canbide are classified as low-risk products. Carriers are required to provide connections and construct sidings for delivery of carload shipments to private sidings and to provide "team" tracks for loading and unloading. Switching service for these tracks must be provided on a reasonable basis. As a matter of practice, railroads often organize subsidiary switching and terminal companies, often on a joint basis, to perform these services. Since the firm is small and often closely held, it is not surprising that the organization of the motor carrier is the typically simple line type with a flow of authority from the owner downward through the organization. The flexibility of the truck s also accounts for another substantial advantage, speed. While there is little or no difference in the absolute speed potential of surface vehicles (i.e., the miles per hour capacity of trucks and locomotives are about the same), the motor truck generally provides the shipper with superior service in regard to elapsed time (transit time), which is the ultimate measure of time for the shipper. Transportation service, like many other services or products, is sometimes produced under conditions of common cost;

How Martin Luther King developed Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
How Martin Luther King developed - Essay Example The letter was written in protest to the law that segregated people on racial bases. The letter was intended to persuade his audience on the need for a nonviolent but direct action to eliminate the unjust laws. The intended audience was the critiques who were opposed to his activities in down town Birmingham, Alabama. This essay focuses on why Dr. Martin Luther King Junior's Letter from a Birmingham Jail stands out as a model of how to write a powerful argument. The essay will demonstrate what Martin Luther does to make his writing so persuasive even in the contemporary readers. Writing persuasively is not easy since it requires one to be able to coerce an audience that could be partial or impartial towards your ideas. It requires one to make the audience trust you and perceive your arguments, proclamations, or judgments as truthful (Jacobus 210-213). In case Martin Lutherââ¬â¢s Letter from a Birmingham Jail, he had to convince his audience that racism is evil and should be elimin ated for the good of all. He starts his letter with the words ââ¬Å"My dear fellow clergymenâ⬠(King 115). This enables him establish a connection with the intended audience. Luther manages to earn the readers trust and induces them to view him and his ideas as intelligent. The Letter to the clergymen is precise but clearly addresses different aspects of racism expressed towards African-American people, particularly in Birmingham during the time of the writing. The letter is realistic and unbiased. Dr. Martin wrote this letter on Aprils 16, 1963 while he was imprisoned. Leading Martin Lutherââ¬â¢s letter evoked a sense of patriotism even in me. The letter was addressed to eight clergymen who were opposed to Lutherââ¬â¢s work on civil rights. Martin Luther employs Aristotleââ¬â¢s persuasion appeals, which include ethos, pathos, and logos. In his writing, Luther appeals his own reputation, arouses emotions in the readers mind, and supports his claims using credible cita tions from influential thinkers. By making use of pathos, Luther is able to connect and invoke emotions such as anger, sympathy, patriotism, love, and empathy from the readers (Jacobus 225). The readers sympathize with him when he says, ââ¬Å"I am in Birmingham because injustice is hereâ⬠(King 116). This clearly addresses the question of his intentions, which had been posed by his critics. Additionally, he establishes his role as the right person to promote civil rights when he claims, ââ¬Å"I have the honor of serving as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conferenceâ⬠(King 117). He reminds his opponents, who were clergymen that he is entitled to promote the rights of his community and is not any lesser than the eight clergymen are. Additionally, this demonstrates use of ethos to establish his credibility. He builds his credibility when he repeatedly compares himself to biblical characters who had suffered for telling the truth (Jacobus 213-217). By so doin g, the reader understands and appreciates Lutherââ¬â¢s grounds as truthful. This is depicted when he states ââ¬Å"Just as the eight-century prophets left their little villages and carried their ââ¬Ëthus saith the Lordââ¬â¢ far beyond the boundaries of their home townsâ⬠(King 115-116). This statement convinces the readers that his course is genuine. He continues to claim that ââ¬Å"Just as the Apostle Paul left his village of Tarsus and carried the gospel of Jesus Christ to practically every hamlet and city of the Graeci-Roman world,

Study Local Universities Essay Example for Free
Study Local Universities Essay Looking at the trend recently, most of the students feel that studying abroad is better than studying in local universities. As a saying goes, the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. However, the students have their own choices either studying in universities abroad or in local universities. They have own reason to study locally or abroad. Both of universities, abroad or local have their own uniqueness. So, we cannot ignore the fact that studying abroad is better than studying in local universities but to study in local also has advantages. In Malaysia, there are many local universities that have a good quality and students have a variety of choice that they can choose. In my opinion, I disagree that studying abroad is better than studying in local universities. This is because studying in local universities can save the cost and it is as good as universities abroad while students who study abroad are exposed to culture shock and they will not have communication barrier. First, to study in local universities to save costs compared to study at universities abroad. Different countries have different currency rate. Usually, when we change the currency to another currency, the value we will be smaller. So, we need more money to study abroad. Students need a lot of money to pay fees if studying abroad than studying locally. When they study in universities in the United States or the United Kingdom, they also need more money to buy winter clothes for countries different climate. Not only that, as the other is from the country, the higher the price of tickets. So much money is needed to buy tickets to and fro. If they are in cases of emergency, they can not go home immediately because they do not have the money to buy tickets. If studying in countries identified in the event of an emergency we can return immediately.
